Topkapı Palace now open for night visits every Saturday until September
One of Türkiye’s most treasured historical sites, Topkapı Palace, is now offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience its grandeur after dark. Starting June 21 and continuing every Saturday evening until September 14, the iconic palace will open its gates for night tours, providing a rare and atmospheric look at the former seat of the Ottoman sultans.
Organized by the Turkish Presidency of National Palaces, the night visits run from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., with two guided entry slots at 9 and 10 p.m. Tickets are available at the main Imperial Gate (Bab-ı Hümayun), where all tours begin and end. Audio guides are offered for deeper insight into the palace’s storied past, and the First Courtyard café will remain open throughout the evening hours.
Visitors will explore key areas such as the Kubbealtı, Weapons Museum, and the Harem’s Imperial Hall and Courtyard of the Concubines. The inner sections include sacred and ceremonial spaces like the Audience Hall, Fatih Pavilion, and Chamber of Sacred Relics—home to some of the most revered artifacts of Islamic and Ottoman heritage.
Among the palace’s priceless treasures on display are the Topkapı Dagger, the Golden Throne, and the famed Spoonmaker’s Diamond. Guests will also stroll the palace gardens and enjoy panoramic views of Istanbul from the İftariye and Mecidiye Pavilions.
Topkapı Palace by night offers a new lens through which to appreciate the empire’s legacy—illuminated by moonlight and the soft glow of its architectural brilliance.
