Iftar dinner was held in honor of Fener Greek Patriarch Bartholomew, who was in Gökçeada for Easter.

According to local media, the fast-breaking dinner given in honor of Fener Greek Patriarch Bartholomew, who was in Gökçeada for Easter, was a sign of respect for faith.

Bartholomeos, who performed the morning mass at the Aya Marina Church in Kaleköy and the evening mass at the Central Panayia Church, ate at the Değirmen Cafe with the Gökçeada protocol during the fast-breaking hour.

According to canakkaledemocrat.com, at the fast-breaking dinner, Gökçeada District Governor Dr.Serhat Doğan, Gökçeada Garrison Commander Artillery Commando Major Mahir Çelik and Gökçeada Deputy Mayor Ercan İpek showed the beauty of being together, even if their beliefs were different.

Making a short speech after the fast-breaking dinner, Fener Greek Patriarch Bartholomew thanked the attendees by stating that the pre-Easter diets of the Orthodox community and the fasting of Muslims in Ramadan have a similar logic (not being hungry, but cleansing the soul).
