The event is taking place at 18:30 local time at the iconic Pallas Theatre, one of the Greek capital’s leading cultural venues.

Backed by Patriarch Bartholomew
The concert is organized under the auspices of Greek Patriarch Bartholomew I, who is also expected to attend in person. Born in Gökçeada, Bartholomew has long been associated with efforts to preserve the island’s Greek cultural and educational heritage.

Organizers say the primary goal of the event is to provide financial support to Greek minority educational institutions on the island.

Prominent Artists and Cultural Message
The program features leading Greek artists alongside several musical ensembles. Among the performers is the Amfilochia Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Yorgos Chongas.

Speaking to Greece’s public broadcaster, journalist Yorgos Dionisopoulos quoted Chongas as saying the concert represents more than a cultural gathering—it is a call to safeguard the educational legacy of Gökçeada.

Strengthening Cultural and Educational Ties
Proceeds from the concert will be directed toward covering the operational needs of schools on Gökçeada, organizers confirmed.

The initiative also aims to raise awareness about the island’s historical Greek community and reinforce cultural ties between Greece and Gökçeada.

Analysts note that such events often carry both cultural and symbolic significance, particularly in the context of minority rights and heritage preservation in the region.
