International students gather in Edirne
International students studying in Edirne came together at an International Student Gathering hosted under the auspices of the Edirne Governor’s Office in cooperation with the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).
The event was held at Edirne Akmercan Anatolian Imam Hatip High School and attended by Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer and former Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop.
Mustafa Trampa, Chairman of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board and Mufti of İskeçe, also attended the gathering.
The program brought together students from different countries who are currently pursuing their education in Edirne. Sezer and Şentop spoke with the students and exchanged views on their experiences in the city.
The gathering highlighted Edirne’s role as an educational and cultural center that brings together young people from diverse geographical backgrounds. Speakers also emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural interaction alongside the students’ academic lives in the city.
The International Student Gathering aimed to provide an opportunity for students from different countries to meet in Edirne and strengthen bonds of friendship, solidarity and mutual understanding.
Speaking about the event, Trampa said the program placed particular emphasis on education, cultural interaction, fraternity and strengthening personal ties among young people from different countries.
