First Bayraktar TB3 takeoff and landing test raises concerns in Greece
Greek defense-focused media outlets have described the successful first takeoff and landing tests of the Bayraktar TB3 UAV from the Turkish amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu as a "worrisome development."
The Pronews news site reported the test as a significant milestone for Turkey's defense industry, emphasizing its effort to enhance the operational capabilities of unmanned systems for naval forces. However, it also labeled the development as a "new concern" for Greek defense systems. The report highlighted the Bayraktar TB3’s capacity to operate in groups, suggesting this poses a potential threat to Greek security.
Meanwhile, Flight noted that Turkey is either the first country to possess a drone aircraft carrier or is rapidly advancing toward that goal. Sigmalive called the test a "historic milestone," pointing out the lack of support equipment needed for the landing as a remarkable feature, showcasing Bayraktar TB3's technological superiority.
Other defense-oriented platforms echoed these sentiments, underlining the importance of the Bayraktar TB3’s compatibility with next-generation naval platforms. Baykar’s official footage of the test was also widely shared in these reports.
