Heavy police presence for basketball Final Four

The Hellenic Police said a special operational plan has been developed, featuring heightened police presence, pre-screening zones, and perimeter security checks around the stadium. Strict, targeted inspections will be conducted to prevent dangerous or prohibited items from entering the venue, in accordance with existing sports event security regulations.

Traffic and operational measures will also be imposed across the broader OAKA area and major road arteries. Authorities made clear they would show “absolutely no tolerance for violence, incidents, possession or use of dangerous objects, vandalism, or any other illegal behavior capable of disturbing public order and endangering the safety of the event.”

Police units will respond “immediately, in a coordinated manner, and with full operational readiness” to any related incident. Fans are urged to arrive early, follow all instructions from police and relevant authorities, and demonstrate responsibility throughout the tournament.

Additional announcements detailing approach and departure routes, checkpoint locations, and traffic arrangements are expected in the coming days.
