Türkiye showcases advanced missile, drone capabilities with major export deal
The missile, unveiled at the SAHA 2026, is reported to have a range of 6,000 kilometers and a speed reaching between Mach 9 and Mach 25, according to Anadolu Agency.
Developed by the Turkish Defense Ministry’s R&D center, Yıldırımhan uses liquid nitrogen tetroxide fuel and is powered by four rocket engines. Its debut represents one of Türkiye’s most advanced missile systems to date.
The unveiling comes as Ankara accelerates investments in missile technologies, unmanned systems, and space-related platforms. It follows last year’s introduction of the Tayfun Block-4.
Long-range ‘Kuzgun’ kamikaze drone revealed
At the same exhibition, Turkish defense firm STM unveiled Kuzgun, a long-range kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicle designed for deep-strike missions.
The drone has a range exceeding 1,000 kilometers and can operate for more than six hours. Equipped with a high-explosive warhead, Kuzgun is designed to strike strategic targets such as command centers, radar systems, and air defenses.
STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz said the system aims to enhance Türkiye’s strategic deterrence, highlighting its autonomous capabilities, resistance to electronic warfare, and ability to operate in GPS-denied environments.
Kuzgun can be launched from mobile platforms without runway infrastructure and is optimized for cross-border operations, offering flexibility and survivability in complex combat scenarios.
Pasifik Teknoloji secures major drone export agreement
Separately, Turkish firm Pasifik Teknoloji announced a landmark defense export deal involving 100,000 FPV kamikaze drones.
The agreement, signed with an unnamed allied country, includes Merküt-branded drone systems along with additional unmanned platforms such as Alpin and Dumrul helicopters, Deli tactical drones, and Korgan ground support units.
The deal marks the company’s first defense export and boosted investor confidence, with shares rising nearly 10% following the announcement.
Brokerage Global Menkul Değerler said the agreement could strengthen the company’s position in international markets.
Growing defense ambitions
The announcements highlight Türkiye’s accelerating push to expand its domestic defense industry and increase its footprint in global arms markets, amid rising demand for advanced missile and unmanned systems.
