MİLLET’S opinion | The "Pomakos" trap from the Ministry of Defence

The Greek Ministry of Defense has created a mind-blowing event by including the option "Pomakos" (Pomak) in the "religion" section of the electronic form filled in by military candidates.

The fact that both “Muslim” and “Pomakos” (Pomak) options exist simultaneously among the options in the “religion” section of the form prepared by the Ministry of Defense this time for military candidates to fill in, brings to mind that this issue is a “Cunningly” prepared and it is a “TRAP” rather than a mistake.

Those who have attempted to attack the identity of our Minority, those who do not accept our Turkishness, seem to be attempting to attack our religion through the Ministry of Defense.

We see that the imposition of false "Pomak" (identity), which we do not accept as Western Thrace Turks, appears this time under the guise of a "religion" option.

When it comes to the imposition of "Pomakos" (Pomak), those who do not recognize religion, faith, morality, democracy, and human rights are trying to dress our minority with the guise of "Pomakos" (Pomak), which they have created in their dreams, under the guise of religion.

From a theological point of view, we cannot help but point out that this is a crippled and deviant approach. In this respect, it is also a scandal and the fact that it was made by the state institution and especially the Ministry of Defense is a separate issue. But that removes a separate post or even posts.

We hope that this issue is just a "mistake", as our deputy Zeybek stated in the parliamentary question on the subject.

If there is a cunning involved in this business; "I wonder if they'll swallow this bait?" If there is a thought like that, let them know that as Western Thrace Turks, we will not fall into this trap, we will not fall into this trick.

So, “Oh yeah! There was some mistake. True, this is the name of ethnic identity, not a religion. It is the name of our very own kin, who are the grandchildren of Alexander the Great." After a correction like that in the form we wouldn't be surprised if Greek media makes headlines like "Greek Pomaks objected to the wrong done, they claimed their identity" and so on.

Those who understand that they cannot divide the Muslim Turks of Western Thrace into “Pomak-Turk-Roman” should know that these simple and cheap attractions do not work anymore in this age. They're far behind. They should not come up with such simple games. It Doesn't work…
