Which receipts will grant “Bonus” in 2026

The Ministry of National Economy and Finance will continue in 2026 to provide incentives for citizens to request receipts, extending the measure that rewards electronic payments for certain services. The goal is to help taxpayers cover the requirement of spending 30% of their annual real income through digital transactions.

According to the new tax bill, presented to the Cabinet by Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis and to be submitted to Parliament in October, families will see extra tax deductions when paying via debit or credit cards, e-banking, IRIS, e-wallets and other digital means for a wide range of services. These include:

  • Veterinary services
  • Technical services (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, heating technicians, refrigeration maintenance)
  • Taxi services
  • Hairdressers, barbers, beauty salons
  • Funeral services
  • Massage/spa services
  • Cleaning services
  • Dance schools, gyms
  • Lawyers, among others.

In addition, for another year, medical, dental, and veterinary expenses will continue to count double toward the 30% income coverage requirement.

📌 How the tax benefit works:

Taxpayers can deduct 30% of eligible expenses paid electronically from their taxable income, up to €5,000 per year.

For €5,000 in expenses, the deduction is €1,500.

For €10,000 in expenses, the deduction rises to €3,000.

For €15,000 in expenses, the deduction reaches €4,500.

Even if expenses exceed €20,000, the maximum deduction remains capped at €5,000.

The deduction cannot exceed the taxpayer’s total declared real income from salaries, pensions, business activities, or real estate. For example, if someone reports €4,500 in annual income, but their eligible deductions amount to €5,000, the deduction will be automatically limited to €4,500.
