University students at the polls
After three years of being postponed due to the pandemic, university elections to select the members of student association governing boards are taking part today.
The last time elections were held at universities was on April 11, 2019.
Students are able to vote in their faculties between 7:00 and 19:00, though in some faculties the schedule may be different.
There are enrolled 554,050 students, who can vote with their student pass and ID.
There are no classes today. İn some universities classes are also suspended on May 19, the day after the elections.
Regarding the counting of the votes and the results, as in previous years, each faction will give its own count, both for itself and the others, as there is no agreement between the student factions for common results.
