Two young men to be tried for attacking Egyptian fisherman in Thessaloniki

In his report to authorities, the Egyptian man told police the perpetrators were three hooded individuals.
According to preliminary reports, the two males arrested are aged 18-19, while the third one is being sought. After the attack, the victim had visited a health center in the area for first aid. In his charges, the fisherman said that the incident occurred as he was preparing to to work at the fish market and that the perpetrators also used racist words against him.
The two Greeks were charged with grievous bodily harm and insult, with the aggravating circumstance of racism. They will be tried at the one-member misdemeanors court of Thessaloniki on Thursday and remain in custody until then. The two are denying all charges and involvement.
