Tsipras: Popi Tsapanidou will replace Nassos Iliopoulos from Jan 1
Popi Tsapanidou will replace main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesperson Nassos Iliopoulos, party leader Alexis Tsipras announced in a post on social media on Wednesday.
"In 2023 we all deserve a better year. The year of the huge victory and of the political change that will come earlier if we ourselves, become the change we are expecting. Popi Tsapanidou will be the party's spokesperson from January 1, 2023. I welcome her and thank her for accepting our proposal," Tsipras wrote.
"I am certain that Popi, a brilliant journalist, a modern woman and mother, will decisively contribute to our common struggle," he said and thanked outgoing spokesperson Nassos Iliopoulos "who has represented us with zeal until today. He will be a candidate for MP with SYRIZA-PA's ballot in A' Athens and being responsible for the strategic communication he will continue to contribute to our victory in the general elections".
