Tsipras: Our target is to be by far the first in the elections
Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras in an interview with the newspaper "Efimerida ton Syntakton" on Saturday said that his party's target is to be first with a big difference from the second in the general elections "as this is the only possibility for a political change". Tsipras sternly attacked the government stating his certainty on the elections result because, as he said, he has trust in the Greek people. "
Asked on the composition of the progressive government, Tsipras said that it will not be a party government but a government with roots in the society "the first in history with so high participation of women, young people, people of labour, creation, science and market".
He said that the things in the country "are very bad because Mitsotakis' policy multiplied the consequences of the pandemic, energy and inflation crisis" adding that "we will not continue Mitsotakis' policy that makes the rich richer and the poor poorer and leads to the total social devastation" reiterating that "we may not be in condition to promise that we will bring socialism in the next four-year term but we engage that we will save the society from barbarism".
The former prime minister admitted that they have been unfair to the middle class but it was not their choice. "That's why we will be the ones that with high moral duty and high determination will restore the unfairness".
