Truck collides with train in Avlida; suspension of traffic between Oinoi and Chalkis

A truck veered off course on the regional road near Avlida and crashed onto the train tracks, colliding with the passing train 1551 (Chalkis-Athens).
According to Hellenic Train, there have been no reported injuries.
Six firefighters with three vehicles arrived to assist in the evacuation of 130 passengers from the train. Fire Department confirmed that no passengers were trapped and required rescue. Buses have been arranged to transport the passengers away from the scene.
Train services between Oinoi and Chalkis have been suspended.

Train services are operating again on the Athens-Oinoi-Athens route following the collision of a truck with train 1551 (Chalkis-Athens) earlier on Tuesday.
There were no serious injuries but three passengers with minor injuries were taken to Chalkis Hospital.
According to a recent update from Hellenic Train, delays are expected on other routes with bus replacements provided between Oinoi and Chalkis.

The driver of a truck that collided with a train earlier on Tuesday was arrested by police later in the day.
Veering off course on the ring road near Avlida, the truck collided with the no. 1551 train from Chalkida, Evia as it was heading to Athens, leading to a temporary interruption of traffic between Inoi and Chalkida.
The truck driver was given an alcohol test, which turned out negative.
Three people were slightly injured from the accident, and were transferred to the Chalkida Hospital.
