Ten members of New Left party's Central Committee resign
Ten members of the Central Committee of New Left (Nea Aristera) resigned from the party of Monday, indirectly criticizing the party secretary Gavriil Sakellaridis and the majority of the Central Committee on the issue of further collaboration among parties.
As they said in their resignation letter, "The president and the majority of the parliamentary group spoke about unity, while, on the contrary, the secretary and the majority of the Central Committee and the Political Office worked exclusively for the reconstruction of the radical left, rejecting every wider prospect."
In their letter, the 10 said they were "determined to contribute actively to the endeavor of reconstructing the entirety of the left, along with the reconstruction of a wider front of progressive forces, with a reliable and socially recognized leadership."
