Temperatures to rise slightly across Greece as isolated mountain showers expected

Greece is set for generally clear weather on Monday, with scattered clouds developing over central and northern mainland areas during the afternoon, according to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY).

Local showers and brief downpours are expected mainly in mountainous regions, while isolated thunderstorms are possible in the mountains of Macedonia.

Temperatures will rise slightly and remain above seasonal averages, reaching 26 to 28 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country. Inland areas could see highs of 29 to 30 degrees, while Crete may reach 31 degrees Celsius.

Winds to shift direction later in the day

Southerly winds of 3 to 5 Beaufort will prevail early in the day, reaching up to 6 Beaufort in southern seas. From midday onward, winds across western, central, and southern regions will gradually turn west-northwesterly.

Morning visibility may be locally limited, with fog expected in some western areas.

Hotter conditions expected Tuesday before midweek cooldown

Warm conditions will continue Tuesday, with temperatures climbing further and reaching up to 32 to 33 degrees Celsius in parts of central and southern mainland Greece.

A slight drop in temperatures is forecast from Wednesday onward, while Thursday and Friday are expected to bring increased cloud cover and localized rain or thunderstorms, mainly across northern and mountainous areas.

Macedonia and Thrace Forecast

Weather conditions across Macedonia and Thrace will remain mostly fair, with scattered clouds becoming temporarily denser during the afternoon and evening hours. Local showers are expected, while isolated thunderstorms are possible in the mountainous areas of Macedonia.

Winds will be variable at 2 to 4 Beaufort.
