Samaras accuses Tsipras of backing 'Aegean Prespes' on Greek-Turkish relations
Former Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras has launched a fresh attack on former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, accusing him of supporting what he described as "Aegean Prespes" in relation to Greece's policy toward Türkiye.
In a public statement, Samaras criticized Tsipras over comments concerning Greek-Turkish relations and the planned electricity interconnection project near Kasos. He argued that such positions amounted to a policy of appeasement and claimed Tsipras remained committed to concessions similar to those made under the Prespa Agreement.
Samaras also criticized the current government's handling of Greek-Turkish affairs, suggesting there was little political disagreement between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Tsipras on the issue.
The remarks add to the ongoing political debate in Greece over foreign policy and relations with Türkiye.
