PM Mitsotakis announces a new LNG reception station in Alexandroupolis

The construction of the station, as stated by the Prime Minister, will be done with private funds.
The construction of a second liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal with private funds in Alexandroupolis was announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his speech in the Parliament.
"We will build a second liquefied natural gas terminal with private funds in Alexandroupolis," the prime minister stressed.
It is noted that in January the company Gastrade took the final investment decision for the construction of the Independent Natural Gas System (ASFA) of Alexandroupolis.
The project consists of an offshore floating unit for the receipt, storage and gasification of Liquefied Natural Gas and a system of submarine and land pipeline through which natural gas is forwarded to the National Gas Transmission System of Greece (NSF) and from there to consumers.
The terminal is expected to be operational by the end of 2023.
The project has been included and financed by the NSRF Operational Program "Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation 2014-2020" in the amount of 166.7 million euros.
