Parliament committee approves Greece–Türkiye health cooperation agreement

The Standing Committee on Social Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament on Tuesday approved, by majority vote, the Agreement between Greece and Türkiye on cooperation in the fields of health and medical sciences. 

The agreement also covers collaboration in education, research, technical assistance, and emergency response, while establishing the legal framework for all subsequent joint actions.

The ruling New Democracy party voted in favor of the agreement, while the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), Greek Solution, and Niki opposed it. 

PASOK, SYRIZA, New Left, and Course of Freedom expressed reservations during the committee’s plenary session.
