New ministers sworn in following OPEKEPE scandal resignations
At 10:00 am on Monday 30th June at the Presidential Mansion, the new members of the Greek government were sworn in, following the resignations of Makis Voridis and three deputy ministers over the OPEKEPE (Greek Payment and Control Agency for Guidance and Guarantee Community Aid) case.
Thanos Plevris was appointed as the new Minister of Migration and Asylum, replacing Makis Voridis.
Three new deputy ministers also joined the government: Haris Theoharis as Deputy Foreign Minister, Giannis Andrianos as Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, and Christos Dermetzopoulos as Deputy Minister of Digital Governance.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was present at the swearing-in ceremony and had a brief one-on-one meeting with the new government members afterward.
