Kasselakis: A Greek-Turkish dialogue cannot proceed without the Cyprus issue
The Greek-Turkish relations, the Cyprus issue, as well as the latest developments in the Middle East dominated the meeting held by SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Stefanos Kasselakis with the US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs, Yuri Kim.
On Tuesday, Kasselakis paid a visit to Washington where he had the opportunity to ascertain the excellent climate that prevails in Greek-American relations. However, he argued that the expansion of cooperation between Athens and Washington cannot proceed without the practical support of the US in solving the Cyprus problem.
"It is something that is very important not only for Greek-Turkish and Euro-Turkish relations, but also for the relations between America and Greece. Quite simply, we cannot discuss an expansion of cooperation if there is no practical support for the solution of the Cyprus problem," Kasselakis noted.
