Orange weather warning for several regions
The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) has issued an orange warning for locally heavy rain and thunderstorms, with unsettled conditions expected to continue through Monday, November 2.
On Monday, heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast in the Ionian Islands, Epirus, western Central Greece and western and southern parts of the Peloponnese, particularly from the afternoon onwards. The Dodecanese may also experience intermittent severe weather until late at night.
Central and eastern Macedonia, as well as the northern and eastern Aegean islands, were among the areas facing particularly difficult conditions on Sunday.
Hail and further flooding possible
Meteorologists warn that some areas could also experience hailstorms, while continued rainfall may increase the risk of further flooding.
Authorities are urging residents to remain cautious, avoid flooded roads and follow official weather and emergency service announcements as severe weather continues across parts of the country.
