GSEE announces 24-hour nationwide strike for October 1

The General Confederation of Workers of Greece (GSEE) has announced a 24-hour nationwide strike to take place on Wednesday, October 1, following a decision at its plenary session this week.
The union is protesting against proposed legislation on working hours and the government's stance on collective bargaining rights, among other concerns.
In a strongly worded statement, GSEE said:
“Greek wage earners, who already work more hours annually than any of their EU counterparts and report high levels of burnout, are now being pushed into a dystopian reality. Enough is enough — we cannot take any more.”
The strike is expected to affect both public and private sector services, as unions rally against what they describe as worsening conditions for workers in Greece.
