Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis posted the following message, in English, regarding the disastrous floods in Spain's Valencia: "Our hearts go out to the people of Spain as they endure the devastation caused by these catastrophic floods. I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the victims. Greece stands in solidarity with you during this difficult time".

The Greek Foreign Ministry also expressed its sadness over the loss of lives in the floods in Valencia, Spain in a post on X. "Deeply saddened by the loss of life and extensive damage caused by the floods in Spain's Valencia region. We extend our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and express our sympathy to everyone affected," the message said. 

Climate Crisis Min Kikilias offers aid to Spanish people after deadly flooding

Greek Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Vassilis Kikilias expressed his condolences to the Spanish ambassador in Athens on Wednesday over the deadly floods in southeastern Spain, and offered the ministry's assistance to survivors.

In a statement on X platform, Kikilias said, "In a communication with Spanish Ambassador to Athens Jorge Domek, I underlined the solidarity and readiness of the Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Ministry to send aid that will help and relieve the Spanish people, who are currently facing a destruction of biblican proportions."

Spain has declared as of Thursday a three-day mourning period over the death toll, which had climbed to 72 as of this writing.
