Greece-Turkey Trade: Reached 4 billion euros and returned to 2016 levels
Comparing the performance of the year 2021 with the previous year, the total trade increased by about 40%.
"The trade relations between Greece and Turkey, despite the political problems, reached 4 billion euros and returned to the levels of the year 2016," the Hellenic-Turkish Chamber of Commerce (EIB) said in a statement.According to the data of EL.STAT (until 31/09/2021, and ETEE estimates for the last quarter), Greek exports to Turkey increased by 39%, reaching 1.8 billion euro by the end of 2021.
Fifth country Turkey
Turkey is now ranked 5th as a destination country for Greek products.
Also, imports of Turkish products increased by 46%, reaching 2.3 billion euros. Turkey ranks 8th place among our supplier countries.
The trade balance of the two countries remains in deficit for Greece, while the total trade reached 4 billion euros.
In 2020, Greek exports amounted to 1.3 billion euros, while imports to 1.5 billion euros. Therefore, the total trade between Greece and Turkey for the year 2020 reached 2.8 billion euros.
