Greece seeks EU policy for repatriation of asylum seekers whose applications are denied
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized the need for an effective EU policy for the repatriation of migrants whose asylum applications have been rejected. His statements came ahead of the EU Summit held in Brussels.
In his remarks to reporters, Mitsotakis highlighted that issues related to the EU's competitiveness would be one of the key agenda items for the summit. He affirmed that the Greek government would support the proposals put forth by former European Central Bank (ECB) President and former Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi last month.
Mitsotakis pointed out that migration is another significant issue to be addressed during the summit, asserting that the EU must develop a functional return policy for migrants. He expressed satisfaction at the prospect of the European Commission presenting proposals regarding the repatriation of asylum seekers whose applications have been denied.
