Chania-Crete: A priest is accused of abusing his wife for 50 years - The Diary of Horror
A well-known priest in the Chania region of Crete is facing harsh accusations of domestic violence, abuse and threats against his wife and children.
The specific priest continues to work, even though the case is known in the local community and in the relevant Diocese, according to everything reported by zarpanews.gr.
The case has now taken the path of Justice, while a temporary order has already been issued, with which the court forbids the 74-year-old priest from approaching his wife.
The priest's wife endured the torture for 50 years
However, it took... 50 years to reveal the family's suffering described in the case file, as the now 64-year-old elder endured from the age of 14 her husband's violent and jealous character, rape, physical violence, outbursts of anger, threats and verbal abuse.
Victims of the situation and the children, who only understood the extent of the abuse two months ago, when they discovered their mother's hidden diary.
Torture diary
In her diary, the 64-year-old describes her husband's pathological jealousy and unbearable suspicion, as well as his violent outbursts against her even for no reason, because - for example - she greeted a neighbor.
He also describes the incidents of abuse, with beatings and frequent rapes.
The children discovered the diary, when two months ago the woman had to be hospitalized in a serious condition. It was then that she broke her silence and asked her children to take legal action to protect her from her priest husband.
Complaints brought threats
During the 64-year-old's hospitalization, the priest had a telephone conversation with the daughter, during which insults and threats were thrown by the 74-year-old, which were immediately reported to the police.
In the end, the phone threats were only "the tip of the iceberg", as the case is now in the hands of the competent authorities, who are investigating it, and it is expected to be referred to the relevant authorities.
