It was reported that the person who committed the bank robbery in Athens on Monday morning, 5 December, was a colonel in the Greek Armed Forces.

According to the news of the Greek State Agency AMNA, it was determined that the person who robbed the bank branch in the Argirupoli district with the threat of a hand grenade was a 53-year-old colonel.

It was stated that the robber Colonel, who was caught by the security forces, was kept in Attiki Police Unit in order to investigate whether he was involved in other robberies.

The colonel is scheduled to be tried in a military court.

In the news in the press, it was claimed that the colonel, who was suspected of being involved in other bank robberies, resorted to this method to pay his debts to loan sharks due to gambling.
