Rail operator Hellenic Train has announced the cancellation of all services, including the Athens Proastiakos suburban service, on February 28, due to the 24-hour nationwide strike called by unions to mark the second anniversary of the Tempe railway disaster.

In a statement, the company “informs the passenger public that, due to the 24-hour strike, on Friday, February 28, 2025, no routes will operate throughout the network.”

Earlier this week, air traffic controllers said they would be joining in the nationwide general strike.
