AI awareness high in Greece, but workplace use remains low
The survey, which included participants from 21 countries, found that 83% of Greeks have heard of AI and its applications, while 17% said they had not heard of it at all. However, knowledge levels vary significantly: 35% describe themselves as well-informed, 32% say they are moderately informed, and more than 30% admit they are not informed about AI at all.
Despite the growing visibility of AI in everyday life, 68% of respondents in Greece stated they have never used AI tools in their work, suggesting that the integration of artificial intelligence into professional environments remains slow.
These figures mirror international trends, where many people are aware of AI but do not yet fully understand or utilize it in practice. Globally, nearly half of respondents said they use AI technologies in daily life, but only one in three said they use them in their professional activities.
The survey also highlights contrasts between countries. Switzerland, Mexico, and Romania reported the highest levels of familiarity and confidence in AI use, while Nigeria, Japan, and Australia showed lower levels of awareness or understanding.
In Greece, the data suggests that while the public is aware of AI’s growing influence, a significant knowledge gap remains. Experts note that greater investment in digital literacy and AI education could help bridge this divide, enabling both individuals and businesses to take advantage of emerging technologies more effectively.
