54 thousand in Evros and 40 thousand vehicles in Xanthi
According to the data published by the State Statistics Institute, there are 5 million 492 thousand 176 vehicles registered throughout the country in 2022.
Among the provinces with the highest number of vehicles, Meriç (Evros) ranked 13th with 54 thousand 875 vehicles, while Xanthi entered the top 20 with 39 thousand 894 vehicles.
It was stated that there are approximately 40 thousand vehicles in Xanthi, which has a population of 55 thousand in the city center and approximately 115 thousand in the province.
While the total number of vehicles in traffic in Greece was announced as 5 million 492 thousand 176, the province with the most vehicles was Attiki with 3 million 042 thousand 008 vehicles. Thessaloniki came second with 541 thousand 466 vehicles. The number of vehicles in traffic in Irakilo was announced as 153 thousand 040.
According to the statistical results, it is understood that there is a vehicle in every two people in Greece, while 55.39 percent of the total number of vehicles is located in the Attiki region.
It was emphasized that most of the vehicles used are second-hand and pollute the environment with the fuel they use.
