15-year-old driver dies following accident in northern GREECE

A 15-year-old who was critically injured in a car accident in Serres, northern Greece, died on Sunday morning.

According to public broadcaster ERT, the accident occurred at 9 a.m. on Sunday on a provincial road when the vehicle, for reasons yet to be determined, veered off course and collided with a light pole.
The car was driven by the 15-year-old, with three other minors, aged 9, 11, and 13, as passengers.
All four minors were transported by ambulance to the General Hospital of Serres.
The 15-year-old was intubated and admitted to the ICU in critical condition but died a few hours later. The other three minors are reported to be out of danger.
In Greece, individuals must be at least 18 years old to legally drive a car unaccompanied.
