Minister Kerameus: The average salary may exceed 1,500 euros in 2027

She explained that the messages about salaries are particularly encouraging and everything shows that the average wage in 2027 may exceed 1,500 euros, as the Prime Minister himself has already announced. "When we took over the governance of the country in 2019, the average salary was 1,036 euros, while today it has risen to 1,252 euros. In full-time positions, the average salary is already over 1,430 euros," Kerameus emphasized and added that, today, the minimum wage is 830 euros from 650 euros and will reach 950 euros.

"Based on these data, the minimum wage will have increased by 46% from 2019 to 2027, with a parallel reduction in insurance contributions by approximately 6 percentage points," the Minister of Labor noted, adding that, in the context of incorporating a European directive on adequate minimum wages, a relevant draft law was submitted for public consultation, which proposes a new system for calculating the minimum wage that is fairer, more objective, more transparent, and will be effective as of 2028.
