American Airlines launches direct Athens–Dallas route for summer season

American Airlines has launched a new direct route between Athens and Dallas Fort Worth, expanding its transatlantic network and increasing its presence in Greece during the summer travel season.

The new service will connect Athens International Airport with Dallas Fort Worth International Airport through September 8, 2026, using Boeing 777-300 and Boeing 777-200 aircraft with capacities of 304 and 273 passengers respectively.

Expanded US connections from Athens

With the addition of Dallas, American Airlines will operate up to 35 weekly flights from Athens to five major US hubs during peak season. The airline already offers daily services to Charlotte, Philadelphia, Chicago, and New York’s JFK airport.

The new route is expected to increase the carrier’s flights to Athens by 25% and available seat capacity by 30% compared to the 2025 summer season.

Flight schedule

According to the published timetable, flights will depart Dallas at 3:40 p.m. local time and arrive in Athens at 11:45 a.m. the following day. Return flights will leave Athens at 2:00 p.m., arriving in Dallas at 6:55 p.m. local time.

The expansion comes as airlines continue to strengthen connections between Greece and the United States amid growing tourism demand.
