Students from the Balkans who participate in the summer camp in Edirne visit the Selimiye Mosque

305 students from 11 countries participated in the Balkan Cities Cooperation Platform Student Summer Camp. On the last day of the camp, students visited historical buildings in the city. Emel-Özgür Subaşıay Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School history teacher Yılmaz Kahrıman gave information to the students who visited the Selimiye Mosque, which is undergoing restoration work.
The guests, who shopped in Selimiye Arastası, also visited Selimiye Square and took photos. Cansever Hekiç, who came from North Macedonia, told AA correspondent that he liked Edirne very much.
Explaining that they both visited the city and participated in many activities within the scope of the summer camp, Hekiç said, "When I return to my country, I will tell and promote Edirne. Selimiye Mosque is a very magnificent structure, we liked it very much. I wanted to see it very much. I want to study at university here, I liked it very much."
Fatma Zekir from the same country stated that she was very impressed by the architecture of Selimiye.
Stating that they visited the city with admiration, Zekir said, "Turks living in North Macedonia love Edirne very much. I also want to study at university here." Within the scope of the camp programme that started on 8 July, the guest students visited Gökçetepe Nature Park and Çanakkale Martyrdom as well as historical and cultural sites in the city.
Students participated in sportive and cultural activities and conducted experiments in physics, chemistry and biology laboratories.
The camp will end after today's excursion programme.
