Religious knowledge competition held in Kardzhali
The Regional Muftiate of Kardzhali (Kırcaali) successfully organized a Religious Knowledge Competition among students who attended summer Qur’an courses across the province. The final program brought together students at the Yeni Mosque in Kardzhali, where they showcased their knowledge and memorization skills.
According to Kırcaalihaber, the event began with a Qur’an recitation by Berkin Hacı, a student from the Yeni Mosque Qur’an course. Opening remarks were delivered by Kardzhali Regional Mufti Basri Eminefendi, as well as Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) MPs Elvan Gürkaş and Ayten Sabri, who wished the participants success.
The competition was conducted in three stages:
- Written exam on basic religious knowledge.
- Oral examination of selected topics.
- Recitations from the Qur’an.
The jury included former Grand Mufti Selim Mehmed, Halit Gül, imam of the Central Mosque in Kardzhali, and Mustafa Arısütü, imam of the Martyrs’ Mosque in Momchilgrad (Mestanlı).
At the conclusion, prizes were awarded to the top students. The event also actively engaged children in the audience by asking them questions, rewarding correct answers with small gifts.
The Regional Muftiate of Kardzhali expressed gratitude to the teachers who guided the students, the families who supported them, and all individuals and institutions that contributed to the success of the competition.
