The Secondary Education Teachers’ Union of İskeçe (ELME) has issued a resolution expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and calling for an end to Greece’s cooperation with the Israeli government.

The Secondary Education Teachers’ Union of İskeçe (ELME) has issued a resolution expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and calling for an end to Greece’s cooperation with the Israeli government.
In its statement, the union supports the “struggle of solidarity to break the blockade of Gaza and stop the genocide of the Palestinian people by the Israeli government.” It highlights the Global Sumud Flotilla, describing it as an unprecedented humanitarian initiative delivering aid and sending a clear message that “the siege of the Palestinian people must end now. Freedom and justice for Palestine.”
The resolution further calls on the Greek government to:
- End all cooperation with Israel, which it described as a “murderous government.”
- Ensure the safety of the Global Sumud Flotilla crews, which include a Greek delegation.
- Protect Greek citizens participating in the flotilla, who, according to the statement, are being falsely labeled as terrorists by Israel.
Recognize the State of Palestine, in line with United Nations resolutions.
