The Grand Mufti's Office of the Muslims of Bulgaria condemned the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian city of Rafah.

In the statement made on the official website of the Grand Muftiate, it was stated that if the Israeli attacks continue, they will have devastating dimensions and will affect more than 2 million people.

"It is unacceptable that displaced Palestinians who have taken refuge in various neighbourhoods of the city are forced to evacuate again. The destruction of buildings and casualties are increasing with each attack."

In the statement, it was pointed out that 35 thousand Palestinians, including 15 thousand children and 10 thousand women, have been killed since the attacks started in October 2023, and it was reminded that the number of wounded reached 80 thousand, hundreds of thousands of people were forcibly displaced, thousands of dead are still under the rubble, civilian infrastructure, hospitals and educational facilities where people were sheltered were destroyed.

In the statement, "As the Grand Muftiate, we condemn the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian city of Rafah. We call and pray for a ceasefire to be declared as soon as possible to end the killing of innocent people."
