Chief Mufti Office in Bulgaria announced that 1,940,000 Bulgarian Lev donations were collected for earthquake victims who survived two major earthquakes in Türkiye.

According to the statement made by the Office of the Chief Mufti of Bulgaria, it was collected 1,940,000 lev donations for the aid campaign they organized for the earthquake victims in Türkiye.

The Chief Mufti in Bulgaria was one of the first institutions to extend a helping hand for those who suffered from the disaster of the century in Türkiye.

In the statement made by the Chief Mufti on the subject, “The aid campaign ended on February 13, but donations to the donation accounts and various units of the Chief Mufti continue to arrive. Therefore, we expect the amount to increase.”

After the meeting between the Office of the Chief Mufti and the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Sofia Aylin Sekizkök, it was decided that some of the money collected would be used to buy containers and tents for the homeless.

The other part of the collected aid will be transferred to the bank account of the Republic of Türkiye Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) and will be used to restore the homes of the victims.

The Grand Mufti of Bulgaria, thanking everyone who was sensitive to the campaign, is expected to give detailed information about the total amount of aid in the coming days.

In the statement released by the Chief Mufti, "We thank the regional mufti offices, mosque councils, imams, the media, as well as all Bulgarian citizens belonging to different ethnic groups and religions for their support in this difficult time.
