So far 262 people affected by the West Nile fever, says Public Health Institute
Twenty-five people have been killed from the West Nile fever in Serbia, said the Public Health Institute on Tuesday.
While 25 people have been killed across the country as of Sept. 4, some 262 people were affected by the fever, a statement said.
The statement also said that a total of 798 West Nile virus cases were detected in Greece, Italy, Hungary and Romania among EU countries.
18 people in Greece, 13 in Italy and 12 in Romania passed away due to the fever.
The West Nile fever typically spreads to humans and animals through mosquito bites. The disease cannot be transmitted between animals and humans.
