Japan: We support an independent Palestinian state

The reactions of the world public opinion against the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza for 7 months are gradually increasing.

Support for the Palestinian statehood process is also growing every day.

Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa made statements on the Palestinian issue at a press conference in the capital Tokyo.

Emphasising that they will continue their diplomatic efforts to reduce tension and improve the humanitarian situation in the region, Kamikawa stated that Japan will continue its efforts to build trust between the parties.

"We support an independent Palestine"
Stating that they understand the Palestinians' desire to have an independent state, Kamikawa said: "We support negotiations between the parties and the two-state solution. We understand the Palestinians' goal of establishing an independent state and support their efforts in this regard."

"We will continue to address the issue of recognition of a Palestinian state in a comprehensive manner, taking into account how the peace process can be advanced," Kamikawa said.

"We are following the arrest warrant for Netanyahu and Gallant"
Kamikawa added that they will follow the process regarding the request of Kerim Khan, the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), to issue an "arrest warrant" against Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant.
