A significant funeral ceremony took place in Tehran for Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of the Hamas Political Bureau, who was recently assassinated. The ceremony in the Iranian capital was attended by President Massoud Pezeshkian along with high-ranking civilian and military officials. Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei led the funeral prayer at the Tehran University campus. Thousands gathered at the university gate, though only a limited number were allowed into the prayer area.

Following the prayers, a large crowd assembled in Revolution Square next to the university and along the surrounding roads. Ismail Haniyeh will be sent to his final resting place tomorrow in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

"The Attack Was Coordinated with the United States"

Before the funeral prayer, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf claimed that Haniyeh's assassination was carried out with the coordination of the United States. Speaking highly of Haniyeh's efforts for Palestine, Qalibaf said, "We know that this attack was executed with the support and coordination of the United States. It is our duty to respond to this murder at the right time and place."
