Zeybek submits another question for Xanthi Minority Middle and High School
Xanthi MP Hüseyin Zeybek has once again brought the longstanding building issue of the Xanthi Minority Middle and High School to the Greek Parliament's agenda. Zeybek presented a letter from the school’s Board of Trustees and Parent-Teacher Association, which had been sent to the relevant authorities requesting a new school building.
In his parliamentary report, Zeybek emphasized that the unresolved building problem has negatively impacted both the quality of education for students and the overall standard of minority education. He called for clarification of the necessary procedures and the initiation of steps to construct a new school building.
During his tenure, Zeybek has frequently submitted parliamentary questions regarding the school’s construction. Between 2015 and 2019, as a government MP, he contributed to the use of the four-classroom former Hürriyet Primary School as an annex to the minority high school to ease overcrowding.
Zeybek also pointed out that the need for a new school building is mentioned in the Interparty Thrace Commission’s report. However, he criticized the lack of action, noting that responsibilities are being shifted between institutions without any concrete progress.
