YTB delegation held contacts in Western Thrace
A delegation from the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) held contacts in Western Thrace.
The delegation headed by YTB Vice President Abdulhadi Turus visited institutions and organizations in Western Thrace between 23 – 26 April. The Turkish delegation visited the elected muftis, Turkish minority associations, minority mayors and the FEP Party.
The delegation headed by Abdulhadi Turus started their visit in Western Thrace on Saturday, April 23. They first visited the Dimetoka Meriç Muslims Education and Culture Association and attended the iftar held there. Turus made a short speech after the the iftar dinner.
VISITS CONTINUED ON SUNDAY
The delegation consisting of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) Vice President Abdulhadi Turus, Head of Culture and Social Relations Department Murat Kazancı, President Advisor Recep Paçaman and YTB Expert Fatih Hafız Mehmet continued their Western Thrace contacts and visits on Sunday, April 24.
The delegation started its Sunday meetings by visiting the Miki (Mustafçova) Youth Association, Kentavros (Ketenlik) Youth and Culture Association and Echinos (Şahin) Education Culture Association affiliated to Xanthi province, and meeting with the managers and youth of the association.
Turus and the accompanying delegation met with the Mayor of Miki (Mustafçova), Rıdvan Delihüseyin, on the same day. The delegation attended the traditional iftar program organized by Iasmos (Yassıköy) youth and attended by thousands of people on the same evening.

YTB delegation continued its contacts in Western Thrace on Monday, April 25.
Visiting Yassıköy Youth Culture Association, the guest delegation made the “sahoor” at Serdar Mahalle Mosque in Komotini.
YTB Vice President Abdulhadi Turus and the accompanying delegation visited the Chairman of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board and the Mufti of Komotini, İbrahim Şerif in his office.
Later, the delegation moved to the Western Thrace Minority Graduates Association and met with Hüseyin Baltacı, the president of the association.
YTB delegation later visited the Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Union on the same day and met with the chairman, Aydın Ahmet, as well as the members of the board of directors of the association.
Later, the delegation moved to Komotini Turkish Youth Union and met with GTGB President Sedat Hasan. During their visit to the GTGB, the delegation also met with Ahmet Kara, Chairman of the Western Thrace Minority Schools Councilors' Union.
BAKEŞ, DEB PARTY
YTB delegation met with President Hüseyin Bostancı and other executives during their visit to BAKEŞ. YTB Deputy Chairman Turus and his entourage later joined the FEP Party and met with the party chairman, Çiğdem Asafoğlu.
The delegation also visited and met with Yassıköy Mayor Önder Mümin and Kozlukebir Mayor Rıdvan Ahmet on the same day. On Monday, April 25, the delegation attended the iftar program held in Çilingirmahalle village of Rhodope province.
XANTHİ
YTB delegation continued its contacts in Western Thrace by visiting Xanthi Mufti and Xanthi Turkish Union on Tuesday, April 26. YTB Vice President Abdulhadi Turus could not attend Xanthi visits due to a health problem.
The delegation headed by YTB Department Head Murat Kazancı first visited the Xanthi Mufti and met with Mufti Ahmet Mete.
YTB delegation later transferred to Xanthi Turkish Union. The delegation was welcomed by Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of Xanthi Turkish Union, and other administrators and compatriots.
Ahmetoğlu gave information about the work of the ITB and the legal struggle.
The YTB delegation completed its contacts with Western Thrace and left the region to move to Turkey by road.
