Youth from İskeçe visit Bursa and Söğüt as part of cultural exchange program
During this four-day trip, the participants had the opportunity to explore historical and cultural sites, strengthening the cultural ties between Western Thrace and Bursa.
The trip began with the İTB group being welcomed in Bursa by Zekeriya Osman, a representative of the Bursa Branch of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association (BTTDD). The group visited significant historical and tourist sites in Bursa, including the Grand Mosque (Ulucami), the Green Tomb (Yeşil Türbe), Cumalıkızık village, and the Panorama 1326 Bursa Conquest Museum. They also spent free time exploring Bursa's bazaars and shopping centers. Additionally, the İTB Youth Branch members visited the BTTDD Bursa Branch, where they were greeted by branch president Hasan Karaömer and other officials. Gifts were exchanged during the meeting.
The group also visited the district of Söğüt in Bilecik province, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire. In Söğüt, they toured the tomb of Ertuğrul Gazi and other historical sites. The young visitors were also received by the Mayor of Söğüt, Ferhat Durgut, to whom İTB Youth Branch Leader Önder Şabanoğlu presented a painting of the İskeçe Pazaryeri Mosque. The group returned to İskeçe on the evening of August 15.
The İTB Youth Branch members expressed their gratitude to those who organized the trip, highlighting how informative and enjoyable the experience was for them.
