Young girls from Gümülcine explore Istanbul’s cultural and spiritual heritage
A group of students from Quran courses in Gümülcine took part in a three-day cultural visit to Istanbul, experiencing the city’s rich historical and spiritual legacy.
Organized by the Mufti Office of Komotini, the trip took place between April 4–6, 2026, and included participants from Bağlar, Iasmos (Yassıköy), Bekirli, and the Meriç region. The program was conducted under the guidance of an official from the Istanbul Mufti Office.
Visits to Iconic Religious and Historical Landmarks
During the trip, students visited some of Istanbul’s most significant sites, including:
- Eyüp Sultan Mosque and the tomb of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari
- Dolmabahçe Palace
- Topkapı Palace
- Hagia Sophia
- Sultan Ahmed Mosque
- Cultural Highlights Across the City
The itinerary also included visits to major cultural and touristic spots such as Ortaköy, Taksim Square, and Galata Tower.
Participants were hosted for dinner near the historic Chora Mosque, adding to the cultural depth of the experience.
Bosphorus Tour Marks Grand Finale
The program concluded on April 6 with a scenic Bosphorus cruise and a visit to the Egyptian Bazaar.
