"Xanthi Turkish Union Women Meetings" continue in Beyköy
Within the framework of "Xanthi Turkish Union (ITB), Women Meetings", an event was held in Beyköy of Xanthi. On Wednesday, 7 February 2024, the event was held in the Beyköy mosque room. At the ITB Women's Meeting in Beyköy, Gynaecologist Dr Arzu Şabanoğlu made a presentation on "Fighting Cancer in Women's Diseases".
The event was attended by Sevil Şerifoğlu, Vice President of Xanthi Turkish Union, Zeynur Bargan, Spokesperson of the Western Thrace Turkish Women's Platform and President of the Women's Section of ITB, Ayşe Baran, wife of Xanthi MP Burhan Baran, Fatma Saliemin, President of the Ova Women's Section of Kırköy Culture and Education Association, members of the Board of Directors of ITB, members of the Women's Section of ITB, students of ITB Sewing and Embroidery Course and many women from Beyköy.
The opening speech of the event was made by İlknur Mursel, instructor of Xanthi Turkish Union Beyköy Sewing, Embroidery and Handicrafts Course. Mursel thanked the guests and thanked the women who supported her and the course in every way.
Zeynur Bargan, President of the Women's Section of ITB and Spokesperson of the Western Thrace Turkish Women's Platform, also expressed her pleasure to be together with the women from Beyköy. Bargan stated that the aim of the Women's Section is to take part in the favour of women with the projects and activities they organise.
In her speech, Sevil Şerifoğlu, Vice President of Xanthi Turkish Union, gave information about the "ITB Women Meetings" series of events. İTB Vice-President Şerifoğlu said, "As Xanthi Turkish Union, issues of interest to women constitute one of the main fields of activity of our association. In addition to keeping the Turkish culture alive in Western Thrace, we aim to contribute to our women, whom we see as the cornerstone of the society, in different fields. In this direction, we realise various activities and studies."
Gynaecologist Dr. Arzu Şabanoğlu, who attended the event as a speaker, gave information to the participants on "Fighting Cancer in Women's Diseases" and answered the questions.
At the end of the event, course instructor İlknur Mürsel presented the handicrafts they prepared in Kusrta to the speaker Dr Arzu Şabanoğlu, Ayse Baran, wife of MP Burhan Baran, Fatma Saliemin, President of Ova Women's Section, Sevil Şerifoğlu, Vice President of ITB, Zeynur Bargan, President of ITB Women's Section. Afterwards, traditional foods prepared by the trainees were served to the guests.
