World Business Council Introduction Event Held in Komotini
The Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Komotini and the World Turkish Business Council (DTİK) hosted the World Business Council Introduction Event on the evening of Tuesday, November 14, 2023, in Komotini. The event, held in cooperation with the Greek Country Representation of DTİK, took place at the Diamond Event Hall in Komotini between 18:00 and 20:00 on Tuesday evening.
Among the participants were the Consul General of Komotini, Aykut Ünal, deputy consuls, consulate staff, and Levent Sadık Ahmet, the President of the Balkans Representatives Board of DTİK and the Country Representative of Greece.
The introductory event commenced with a presentation by Deputy Consul Barış Çulha, where Consul General Aykut Ünal welcomed the participants, highlighting the significance of the event supported by the Consulate and the DTİK.
During the event, Consul General Ünal shared insights on various aspects, including the business environment, opportunities, future investments, and the potential of the youth. He emphasized the importance of regional ownership in the Balkans and expressed hopes for increased collaboration and regional integration.
Consul General Ünal also addressed recent diplomatic efforts between Türkiye and Greece, expressing optimism for future developments. He announced the upcoming High-Level Cooperation Council meeting on December 7 in Greece, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The Consul General emphasized the need for development in the region, citing the existing opportunities and encouraging exemplary efforts from the attendees to strengthen the bridge between Türkiye and Greece.
Following the Consul General's remarks, Levent Sadık Ahmet, the President of the DTİK Balkans Representatives Board and the Country Representative of Greece, spoke about the objectives and initiatives of DTİK, emphasizing the importance of diaspora diplomacy in economic and academic development.
Ahmet thanked the participants and discussed the strategic goals of DTİK, focusing on creating coordination and networks among successful Turkish-origin and Turkey-friendly entrepreneurs. He highlighted the role of diaspora representatives in lobbying and strategic communication activities.
Ahmet also provided insights into the recent activities of DTİK, including the selection of country representatives and their first meeting hosted by the Turkish Ambassador in Zagreb. He emphasized the significance of Balkans for Türkiye, both historically and strategically.
