Workers and students united against cost of living

As a continuation of the actions decided at the meeting called by the Union of Private Employees and Commercial Employees of Xanthi on October 2, with the participation of workers, teachers, students and other citizens, the rally of labor unions and mass organizations of Xanthi against cost of living was held.

After the interventions in electricity providers and supermarkets, on Thursday October 20th the protesters sent the message that they will not sit down in this "difficult winter". As they shouted with their slogans: "We will not thaw all winter, no waiting - everyone in the race", "Winter does not come with vouchers and passes - We do not adapt, do not worship them".

In this regard, the organizers pointed out:

"This mobilization is another step for the great success of the strike on November 9, which should send a message of counterattack for the workers, to demand increases in wages, ceilings in electricity prices and in general goods popular consumption. We salute the unions and the workers who participated in the large gathering and call for November 9th to be the day when the workplaces of Xanthi will die, the message will be given": No tolerance, no more waiting.
