The Turks of Western Thrace carried out an action in İskeçe (Xanthi) with the slogan "THAT'S ENOUGH" as a reaction to Greece's decision to deny the Turkish identity.
The Xanthi Turkish Union, which decided to take action after the Greek Supreme Court rejected the ECHR's decision regarding the Xanthi Turkish Union for the second time and did not accept the legal status of the association, held a march on Saturday, July 10, with the slogan "THAT'S ENOUGH".
Citizens from many regions of Western Thrace participated in the action organized by the Xanthi Turkish Union. The crowd gathered in front of the XTU marched to the city square. Approximately 1500 Western Thrace Turks who participated in the action chanted various slogans for the recognition of the Xanthi Turkish Union during the march.
Citizens chanted slogans such as "Rights are not given, they are taken, the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights are implemented, justice for XTU, XTU is not a threat, democracy, equality, freedom".
Thousands of citizens gathered in front of the XTU, formed a cortege and marched to Xanthi City Square. Citizens gathered in the square again chanted slogans for the recognition of the XTU. Then, XTU President Ozan Ahmetoğlu thanked the citizens who participated in the march and supported them.
